Wayside shrine in apples

The wayside shrine in Apfeltrach , a municipality in the Unterallgäu district in Bavaria , is located on the corner of Hauptstrasse and Saulengrain. The wayside shrine , which is under monument protection, was probably created in the 18th century and renewed in the late 19th century. It consists of a rectangular, brick-built housing in which an almost semicircular closed niche is contained. The base below has a rectangular panel. The wayside shrine is covered with a gable roof with a carnation cornice. In the niche is a wooden painting from the 18th century depicting Christ on the scourge column.
