The Schierker Baude is an educational and leisure facility for young sports people in the State Sports Association of Saxony-Anhalt in Schierke .
history
The first building of today's Schierker Baude was erected in 1937. From 1946, it was the “Karl-Marx-Baude” sports hut. It was operated as a guest house for the council of the Wernigerode district . In addition, there was a holiday home belonging to the Foreign Minister of the GDR. In 1992 the building was taken over by the State Sports Association of Saxony-Anhalt and from 1995 to 1997 it was expanded to become an educational facility for sports youth in Saxony-Anhalt. The sponsor is the Youth Association of Sports Youth in the State Sports Association of Saxony-Anhalt.

There are offers in the areas of leisure & sport, school trips & package deals, vacation & recreation and training & conferences.
Activities range from cliff hikes, climbing (on the rock or indoor), mountain biking, geocaching , trail runs to winter activities such as alpine skiing . There is a toboggan run at the house. The educational and leisure center has a multifunctional hall, a bowling alley, a play and sports room, a creative room, winter sports equipment to borrow, a charcoal burner hut and a sauna.
