BEW - The Education Center for Supply and Disposal Management GmbH (BEW) is a facility for the advanced training of employees from municipal and private companies in cooperation with professional associations for water and waste management and the remediation of contaminated sites. The shareholder is the Ministry for the Environment, Agriculture, Nature and Consumer Protection of the State of North Rhine-Westphalia .

The main task is to make companies fit for the new challenges in the supply and disposal industry. In the past few years, over a thousand trainees have been looked after, masters have been prepared for their exams, employees of the municipal and environmental authorities have received further training, and company representatives for environmental protection in trade and industry have been trained. In addition, university graduates, specialists and career changers are trained. In this way, the BEW contributes, among other things, to maintaining and creating jobs.

The education center for waste disposal and water management operates two educational institutions in the Ruhr area, one in Essen and the other in Duisburg. Both houses have their own conference hotels.
