Bill Chatmon

William "Bill" Chatmon is a retired American basketball player .

Life

Chatmon played from 1969 to 1971 at Baylor University and came up trumps there with outstanding statistical values. In the game year 1969/70, the two-meter tall inside player achieved an average of 20.7 points and 12.7 rebounds, in 1970/71 he came to 23.3 points and 14.2 rebounds per game. In 1971 he was named "All-American" for his achievements. Chatmon was nicknamed "Chat the Cat" (German: Chat, the cat) at the university. In 2006 he was elected to Baylor's team of the century. In 1971, the Buffalo Braves secured the rights to Chatmon in the NBA draft process (15th selection round, 218th place overall).

As a professional, Chatmon played for ABC Wels in the Austrian Bundesliga and was the league's top scorer in 1975, 1976 and 1977. He also competed in the European Cup with Wels.
