Bill Oakley (2008)

Bill Oakley (born December 12, 1966 in Union Bridge , Maryland ) is an American film producer.

He and Josh Weinstein wrote several episodes of the animated series The Simpsons in the seventh and eighth seasons. He was also the producer of Mission Hill , The Mullets and consultant producer on Futurama . In May 2008 he left the producer chair of Sit Down, Shut Up, after contract disputes .

education

Oakley was born in Union Bridge, Maryland . He met Weinstein at St. Alban High School in Washington, DC and edited The Alban Antic with him . He graduated from Harvard University and was the editor and vice president of Harvard Lampoon .

The simpsons

The first episodes of the series, which Oakley wrote, were Marge Has To Work and Marge Is Arrested . In the Treehouse of Horror episode The Journey to Hell , he wrote the part Terror 5 1/2 Feet . Further consequences were Grampa against sexual failure and Bart against Australia . He took Australia because he judged the Australians to be humorous enough to take it as an appreciation. In addition to positive reactions, there were also more than 100 letters of complaint. The most famous episode he wrote was the double episode Who Shot Mr. Burns? . Initially, Oakley's plan was to make Barney Gumble the culprit on this episode, but David Mirkin wanted a member of the Simpson family ; it was finally decided to go with Maggie Simpson . There are also several episodes with Tingeltangel Bob and the comic series Itchy & Scratchy by the Oakleys.

Private life

Bill Oakley is married to Rachel Pulido. He has two daughters and one son.
