Bill Steer (born December 3, 1969 ) is a British guitarist who was best known for his work for Carcass and Napalm Death . In 2004 he was voted 92 of the “greatest heavy metal guitarist of all time” by the specialist magazine Guitar World . After Carcass was dissolved for the first time, Bill Steer and musicians from Cathedral and Spiritual Beggars founded the rock band Firebird , which was stylistically based on blues rock and bands like Led Zeppelin . Until they broke up in 2011, the band released six studio albums on Rise Above Records . Steer has been active again with Carcass since 2007. He is also now the second guitarist for Angel Witch . Steer has been part of the British rock band Gentlemans Pistols since 2009 , with whom he has released an album so far.
