Inner contour

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Internal contour (also the inner outline) is a technical term of the graphic design .

application

The inner contours differentiate the inner space of a larger outer contour of an object or figure. The silhouette of an apple can serve as the outer contour , inside z. B. a worm was drawn in the inner contour. In drawings with pure outer and inner contours, however, there are no hatching or general lines that reproduce the visible volume of the bodies . This is why drawings of this type usually appear to be relatively flat, although overlaps as well as differences in size and height (= simple spatial means) can already create an image space .
