BioFuture

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

BioFuture was a funding initiative of the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF). This prize was awarded for the first time in 1998 to scientists in the field of biotechnology . The aim of the BioFuture competition was primarily to promote young scientists and young professionals. Up until 2006, the award was given to 51 young researchers. A total of 70 million euros were paid out to them for their research activities by 2010, as can be seen in the final balance sheet. Among other things, research into gene therapy for lung cancer in children and the improvement of structural analysis methods for biological molecules such as proteins were funded.
