Biographia Cisterciensis is an online biographical encyclopedia on the history of the Cistercian order (regarding the Cistercians , Trappists and St. Bernard women of Esquermes ).

The Biographia Cisterciensis (also English: Cistercian Biography Online or German: Cistercian Encyclopedia ) was the Internet - Encyclopedia justified. It currently contains 1,800 biographies (with pictures and literature). The Cistercian lexicon also has 38 monastery descriptions, as well as bibliography articles (and a list of links). Most of the articles are signed by the project manager Gerd Gessinger. Around 30 authors have accepted the general invitation to collaborate.
