Biokinematics

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Biokinematics is a term from movement science that is used in biology , sports science and sports medicine as well as in veterinary and human medicine . The theory of moving bodies ( kinematics ) from mechanics is applied to living objects. The biokinematics is part of a scientifically oriented motion analysis and examines changes in the state of motion. It describes the spatial and temporal characteristics of movement without taking into account the mass of the moving body and the forces acting on it. Biokinematics measured variables are location, distance, time, speed and acceleration. In addition to distance meters, tachometers and stopwatches, distance, speed and acceleration sensors as well as photo and video documentation are often required as measuring instruments.
