BirdLife Cyprus (Πτηνολογικός Σύνδεσμος / BirdLife Cyprus) is a nature conservation organization founded in the Republic of Cyprus in 2003 , which is committed to bird protection and the preservation of habitats for birds. In addition, the organization tries to promote the idea of bird protection. BirdLife Cyprus is a national partner of BirdLife International .
history
BirdLife Cyprus is a non-governmental and non-profit membership association that emerged in 2003 from the merger of two Cypriot ornithological societies. The association's office is now in Strakka , Nicosia .
activities
The organization has set up a scientific monitoring system for the avifauna in Cyprus and publishes its data in monthly and annual reports. There are regular counts of water birds, common birds and migrating birds of prey. In addition, BirdLife Cyprus advocates strong monitoring and regulation of traditionally strong bird hunting .
