Birgit von Lemm (born December 22, 1953 in Freiburg im Breisgau ) is a painter whose works often have a biblical background. Her art forms mainly include silk painting , but also watercolors , wall paintings , canvas paintings, chalk drawings, etc. The artist is known for her “turning pictures” made of wood. They show different aspects of a scene or a situation on two sides. She also experiments with different materials in order to express her messages, for example in the Mühlhausen synagogue she presented a picture in which she integrated a mirror fragment of a Holocaust survivor .

In her works, von Lemm addresses biblical topics such as creation , the right to life, or Jewish culture , whereby her "sensitivity ... in the Hebrew faith" is appreciated.

Lemm has been exhibiting publicly since 2008.
