Birgitta Weizenegger (born July 27, 1970 in Oberstaufen , Bavaria ) is a German actress , filmmaker and photographer.

Life

From 1991 to 1994 Birgitta Weizenegger completed an acting training at the Theater der Keller in Cologne . She then worked as an actress at the Schauspielhaus Düsseldorf , the Stadttheater Ingolstadt and the Neue Schaubühne in Munich, before becoming known in 1999 in the role of "Ines Reitmaier", later "Ines Kling", in the ARD television series Lindenstrasse . Weizenegger played this role until 2011.

In addition to her work as an actress, Birgitta Weizenegger has been a filmmaker since 2006. In 2011 she completed a one-year training course as a producer at the Cologne Filmhaus. In October 2013 she made her debut with her feature film Herbstflattern at the Hof International Film Festival, where she was nominated for the Millbrook Author Award and the New German Film Funding Award.

In 2014, Weizenegger discovered the camera as a new way of expressing her artistic work. Since 2017 she has also been working as a portrait and theater photographer.
