Birketveit is the administrative center of the municipality of Iveland in the Norwegian province of Aust-Agder .
The village is about 8 kilometers north of the villages of Skaiå and Bakken and about 12 kilometers west of the village of Vatnestrøm . Iveland Church is at the south end of the village. The small lake Birketveitstjønna is on the west side of the village. This is where the parish hall is located, which houses a small mineral / mining museum. There is also a sports hall in Birketveit.
