Birnie Loch is a quarry pond in the Scottish Lowlands. It is about ten kilometers north of Glenrothes at the junction of the A91 and the B937 in the Fife Council Area in the immediate vicinity of the village of Collessie.
The lake used to be a gravel pit . The mining of gravel and sand has now stopped and the lake was left to the neighboring community by the former mining company. Brinie Loch has been a wild bird sanctuary since 1991. In contrast to other protected areas of this type, the lake is not fenced, but open to the public.
