Birutė Hill Chapel

Birutė Hill Chapel (lit. Birutės kalno koplyčia ) is an octagonal chapel on the Baltic Sea coast in Palanga, Lithuania . It is located on the 22 meter high Birutė Hill ( Birutės kalnas ) in the seaside park of the former Tiškevičius estate, which today houses the Amber Museum. The Catholic chapel was named after Birutė , wife of Grand Duke Kęstutis (1297–1382).

  • In 1869 the chapel was built according to designs by K. Majer.
  • In 1976 stained glass was installed inside , the author of the vitrage was Liudas Pocius.
