The under monument protection standing Bismarck tower on the Memminger Hühnerberg in 1904 to designs by the Memminger municipal architect Peter Lang from domestic Verschönerungsverein built as a lookout tower with a height of 18 meters, growing and Zinnenbekrönung.

After almost four years the tower was rededicated as the Bismarck tower by Otto von Bismarck's admirers . A Bismarck coat of arms made by master stonemason Georg Pöppel and originally colored, and a Bismarck relief made by sculptor Gustav Adolf Daumiller from Memmingen and cast by Christoph Lenz from Nuremberg were attached to the bay window (cost at the time: 1,100  marks ). Detachable fire baskets were also acquired for lighting the tower.

Below the Bismarck coat of arms, the Bismarck motto IN TRINITATE ROBUR (There is power in the trinity). Today the motto no longer exists. The coat of arms was painted over in white and the entrance walled up.

Further inscriptions were on the four sides of the tower below the viewing platform

  • WE GERMANS Fear GOD
    AND NOTHING IN THE WORLD
  • I BELIEVE THAT IN THIS WORLD
THE TRUTH WILL ALWAYS KEEP VICTORY
  • LET'S PUT GERMANY INTO THE SADDLE!
IT WILL ALREADY BE ABLE TO RIDE
  • THE NATIONAL UNION OF THE GERMANS
WAS THE LEAD STAR OF MY CAREER

In 2000 the tower was renovated and the white paint was renewed. On July 28, 2011, a fire was started in the tower by strangers. A sheet metal crate burned out and there was property damage of 5000 euros.
