Bistons
The Bistonen (Βίστονες) were a Thracian tribe on the river Nestos and around the Vistonida Lake (old Greek: Βιστονὶς λίμνη, Bistonìs Limne ) located in proximity to the Cicones and Sapäern lived. According to ancient Greek legend, they were ruled by King Diomedes , whose man-eating horses were stolen by Heracles . The bistonic city of Abdera was named after his helper Abderos , who had been consumed by the horses .
