Diocese of Norcia

The former diocese of Norcia (Nursia), located in Italy , was an immediates diocese that was founded in the 5th century. In 1950 there were still 28,000 Catholics in 102 parishes with 85 diocesan priests , 11 religious priests and 144 religious sisters, but by 1980 the number fell to 14,500 Catholics in 100 parishes with 50 diocesan priests and 125 religious sisters. Only the number of religious priests rose to 15. In 1986 it was incorporated into the Archdiocese of Spoleto , which has had a double name since then.
