The Diocese of Walla Walla ( lat. : Dioecesis Valle-Valliensis ) was in the United States located Roman Catholic diocese based in Walla Walla .
history
The diocese was founded by Pope Pius IX. built from cessions of territory of the Diocese of Oregon City and on July 29, 1850, the new Archdiocese of Oregon City as a suffragan .
The diocese of Nesqually was also established in 1850 , as the predecessor of today's Archdiocese of Seattle . To do this, the Diocese of Walla Walla had to cede territory, and it was officially dissolved in 1853. As a result, Walla Walla became a titular bishopric .
