Bit power

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Bit Power was a magazine dedicated to the needs of home computer users. It was published monthly.

Beginnings

Bit Power was founded by Maik Heinzig, who also acted as editor-in-chief . The publisher was the mhs-Verlag Dresden (see sources). It is not known how many issues appeared in the period from 1988 to 1990, as these were not traded through the postal newspaper distribution . From March 1990 , however, the magazine was published regularly at the beginning of the month until it was discontinued in March 1991. The first editions, which were produced and distributed while the GDR was still in existence , were still completely written with a typewriter and produced using the letterpress process. From mid-1990 offset printing was used.

General

It was unusual that the magazine reported not only on GDR developments, but also on Atari , Commodore and Schneider Computers. Among other things, she published building instructions, articles on software developments , listings, and software and hardware tests . Bit Power was sold under register no. 1775.
