Day26 (alternative spelling Day 26 ) is an American contemporary R&B band. It was created in the summer of 2007 as part of the casting show Making the Band , which was broadcast on the MTV music channel . The band's name refers to August 26, 2007, the date the last episode of the show was broadcast. The quintet is produced by the rapper Sean Combs aka P.Diddy. After a commercially successful phase, the band split up in 2012 and reorganized in 2014.

Band history

Day26 was cast on the 2007 edition of MTV's casting show Making the Band . As part of the final show on August 26, 2007, the band won the competition and received a record deal with Sean Comb's Bad Boy Entertainment label . Produced by Mario Winans, the debut single Got Me Going was released in early 2008 , followed on March 25, 2008 by the self-titled debut album. With 198,945 copies sold, it reached number 1 on the American Billboard 200 album charts in the week of publication . The second album Forever in a Day followed in 2009 . In the fall of 2009, the band announced the separation from Bad Boy Entertainment and the remaining with its previous distributor Atlantic Records . At the same time, Day26 announced that they would go into the studio in early 2010 and record the third album. In December, Qwanell Mosley confirmed that he had left the band due to personal differences. A third album was not released and in mid-2012 the remaining four members announced the breakup of Day26.

The end of 2013 rumors were confirmed, the band that in their original line-up for a comeback - tour will reunite. Mid-2014 appeared the download - EP The Return . In addition to the band, most of the members devote themselves to their solo careers, but at the end of 2014 Willie Taylor named the band Day26 as the focus.
