BitlBee is an instant messaging - client . Unlike traditional client but BitlBee is a network - Gateway , which the user as IRC server and outputs the protocols ICQ , Yahoo Messenger , XMPP and MSN knows. Outwardly, BitlBee behaves like any other instant messenger, but the operation is crucially different: the user uses an ordinary IRC client for communication. He can connect to various instant messaging networks via the BitlBee server. The user profile can be saved permanently on the server. The advantage of this model is that any IRC client can be used for instant messaging.
