Leaf well

The Blätterbrunnen (also called the Ständehausbrunnen or Cimiotti-Brunnen by the Hanoverians ) in Hanover is near the Kröpcke on the corner of Karmarschstrasse and Ständehausstrasse. It was created by the German sculptor Emil Cimiotti , an important exponent of informal art .

The fountain was installed after the underground construction work and the subsequent redesign of Ständehausstrasse in 1976. On January 10, 2011, the fountain was dismantled and stored due to the renovation work at the Kröpcke Center . After the construction work has been completed, the well will be rebuilt around 45 meters from the previous location.

Cimiotti also formulated the leaf motif at other locations:

  • 1980 in a round pool for the liability association of German industry, Riethorst
  • 1986 as a stele for what was then the state central bank on Baringstrasse
