Rainer Ertel

Rainer Ertel (* 1947 ) is a German author , founding member and managing director of the Lower Saxony Institute for Economic Research eV (NIW) and board member of the Scientific Society for the Study of Lower Saxony (WiG).

Life

Ertel (born 1947) was born and raised in Hanover. In 1954 he enrolled in the elementary school on Goetheplatz, in 1958 he switched to the Tellkampfschule (at that time: modern language and mathematical and natural science high school for boys). Here he passed his Abitur in the fall of 1966 and after two years of service with the Bundeswehr in Oldenburg iO began studying economics in Hanover in the 1968/69 winter semester. After two semesters of study, he moved to Freiburg i.Br., where he took the diploma examination for economics in April 1973. During the subsequent employment as a research assistant at Chair B for Economics at the Technical University of Hanover, he received his doctorate in 1976. rer. pole. In April 1980 he took up a position as a project manager at the Bildungswerk der Niedersächsischen Wirtschaft eV (BNW), where he took over the coordination of a seminar program for the implementation of ergonomic findings funded by the Federal Ministry for Research and Technology, which was set up as a cooperation project between six educational institutions in Germany was. After successfully completing the project, he was involved in setting up a non-university economic research institute, which was established as the Lower Saxony Institute for Economic Research (NIW) on the basis of a resolution passed by the Lower Saxony State Cabinet in 1980.
