Bla is a city in the south of Mali . It is located about 82.5 kilometers south of Ségou on the country's most important trunk road. 61,338 people live in Bla (census 2009).
The city is an important transshipment point for the northeastern cities of Mopti and Gao as well as for the southern Sikasso and exports to Burkina Faso and Ivory Coast .
Bla is the capital of the "Djonka", a subgroup of the Bambara .
