Blaateen was a youth magazine on the BR-alpha channel . The format was broadcast every two weeks - on Sundays at 5.30 p.m., Tuesdays at 9.45 p.m. and Wednesdays at 0.30 a.m. For moderation were responsible Carolin Matzko and Gunnar Mergner .

On February 10, 2008, the last episode of blaateen was broadcast on BR-alpha and replaced by the magazine freiraum with the same moderators.
