from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Black Box Recorder was an English indie / electro pop trio founded in 1998 by songwriters Luke Haines and John Moore and singer Sarah Nixey. The arrangement of their pop melodies was largely shaped by the music styles trip-hop and ambient, which were particularly popular in Great Britain at the time .

2001 John Moore and Sarah Nixey married. The band was temporarily shut down in 2004 and Moore and Nixey divorced in 2006.

In 2007, the band worked with Art Brut under the project name The Black Arts and released a Christmas single called Christmas Number One . In 2009 the band returned to the stage with several concerts in London. At the same time it was announced that another album by the band was expected, but it was never released. On April 16, 2010, the band announced that they would split up after releasing one last single. The single Keep It in the Family was released on May 6 of the same year.
