Very Rickenbacher

Very Rickenbacher (born November 3, 1957 in Immensee ) is a Swiss composer and musician .

Life

Very Rickenbacher's musical career began at the age of 14 on the euphonium . He played this instrument actively with the music societies Immensee and Alpnach and in the Rigispatzen brass band . Rickenbacher completed the trumpeter military service. From 1984 to 1999 he was the conductor of the Immensee music company, the Rüter Dorfspatzen brass band and the Udligenswil field music band. Since 2003 he has been leading the Rigispatzen brass band from Küssnacht am Rigi . He has already composed several titles for this formation. Rickenbacher's Polka Half a Century, which he wrote in 2005, is particularly well known .

Rigispatzen marching band

The band was founded in 1956 by eleven musicians from Küssnacht under the name Rigispatzen farmers' band . Since 1963 the formation has been called the Rigispatzen marching band . Above all, the ensemble plays brass music in the Bohemian style. So far five records have been released. At the 15th Swiss brass band meeting in Malters in 2004, the band came second and in the radio competition of the 10 best Swiss brass bands in Wauwil the Rigispatzen achieved the same result. Since September 8, 2003 the orchestra has been led by Very Rickenbacher.
