Leaf margin (cartography)
The sheet edge or card edge of a printed card is that part of a map, the outside of the card level and the card frame is located. This space, usually a few centimeters wide, is used - especially at the bottom - to accommodate additional information:
- about the publisher and the data basis
- for the legend (the map symbols used )
- to the different north directions
- for the year of publication or the actuality (last update)
- on copyright and copyright .
