The Blue-winged parrot ( Forpus xanthopterygius ) is a bird art from the family of authentics Parrots (Psittacidae). There are 6 subspecies.
Appearance
The main color of this species (nominate form) is yellowish-green, with the head being more green. The males have a dark blue rump and blue to purple armpits and under wing feathers. The females are almost completely green, the feathers on the forehead and around the beak being paler or slightly yellowish. The young birds are colored like adults, but the blue is not yet as strongly developed. The beak is horn-colored or slightly gray. The feet are flesh-colored and the iris is dark brown.

The blue-winged parrot is found from Argentina to eastern Brazil .
