Blazer (Browser)
Blazer is a web browser for Palm handhelds. It was originally developed by Handspring . The first version was released in May 2001 and supported HTML , WAP and i-mode . From version 4 it is developed by Palm and uses the NetFront browser core technology from Access . The first two versions could be purchased and were also preinstalled on various Handspring smartphones and version 3 was used on the Treo 600 smartphone. From version 4, Blazer is preinstalled on Palm handhelds.
The current version 4.3 supports among other things:
- SSL , proxy server , VPN
- HTTP cookies
- HTML, XHTML , WML , cHTML , JavaScript , CSS , GIF , JPEG , PNG , BMP
- Downloads on memory card, uploads possible if the Palm file program / FileBrowser is installed, otherwise no file selection is possible
- Favorites
The latest version 4.5 was used on the Treo 700p and Treo 755p (not available in Europe) and one of the innovations was the integration of a streaming player provided by Kinoma.
