NetFront
NetFront is a web browser from Access for mobile devices such as cell phones or PDAs . There are versions for Windows CE , Palm OS , Symbian OS and newer Sony-Ericsson mobile phones. While NetFront is sold commercially for devices with Windows CE and Symbian OS, it is only available on some Sony -Clie models on Palm OS . The Sony Ericsson mobile phones (first model W810 ), which have been released since the beginning of 2006, have NetFront installed as a browser for all web and WAP content. The Internet service ConnectedDrive from the automobile manufacturer BMW also uses NetFront as a browser, which, however, masquerades as Firefox 3 under Windows.
The HTML rendering engine from NetFront is also used in mobile devices from various manufacturers, for example in the new version of Blazer (a web browser for Palm OS) or in the browser of the PlayStation Portable . In Germany and Japan, the Dreamcast game console was also delivered with NetFront-based Internet browsers. Since June 7, 2011 the Nintendo 3DS has also been equipped with the browser. In an update released shortly after the Wii U came out , a NetFront browser was built into the system. In addition, NetFront has also been ported to the Nintendo Switch and is there as a browser for the Nintendo eShop shop system, among other things .
There is also a port for Linux .
The NetFront Browser SDK is a porting and customization kit for browsers. The SDK can be used in conjunction with various mobile and other non-PC-based devices such as B. set-top boxes, digital televisions, VoIP telephones and game consoles can be used.
