Blickpunkt Zukunft was founded in 1980 by the futurologist Werner Mittelstaedt and is one of the oldest magazines in German-speaking countries, which deals thematically with futurology and design. Since then, Blickpunkt Zukunft has been published regularly in print and has also been available as a PDF document on the Internet since 1997 . Issues 50 to 60 were jointly published by Werner Mittelstaedt and the Association of German Scientists . V. (VDW) published. Werner Mittelstaedt has published this magazine alone since issue 61. Blickpunkt Zukunft was nominated for the Alternative Media Prize in the Future category in 2019 and 2020 .
