Werner Mittelstaedt (* 1954 in Gelsenkirchen ) is a German author , futurologist and future philosopher. His main topics are qualitative growth , sustainable development , future research , future design, chaos theory , globalization , sustainable science and technology, future ethics , north-south relationship, peace , progress and long-term global megatrends .

Life

Werner Mittelstaedt is the initiator and former chairman of the Society for Future Models and System Criticism, founded on March 26, 1977 and dissolved on August 11, 2007. V. (GZS). In July 2009, the complete GZS documents were archived in the ISG / city archive of the city of Gelsenkirchen and documented in a finding aid. Werner Mittelstaedt is the author of monographs, articles in books, e-books, magazines and on the Internet. The magazine Blickpunkt Zukunft was founded by him in 1980. The first edition was published in April 1981. From October 2008 to April 2014, he published it together with the Association of German Scientists (VDW). Since then he has published the magazine on his own. In 1994 he was accepted as a member of the Association of German Scientists (VDW) because of his achievements in future research and future design. He is one of the founding members of the Future Research Network founded in 2007.
