Blind Stare is a Finnish melodic death metal band from Turku that was formed in 1999.
history
The band was founded in 1999 by guitarists Anders Öström and Heikki Raisio and drummer Henry Valkonen. A short time later, bassist Tuomas Kant joined the group. Until Eino Tuominen joined as a singer in the spring of 2001, the band only played instrumental metal. Keyboardist Zacharias E. Aarnio joined the cast in autumn as a further member. A short time later Valkonen, Raisio and Kant had to leave the band again. Guitarist and singer Jaakko Lehtinen joined the band as a new member, followed a short time later by drummer Timo Palokankare and bassist Kalle Lahti.
In October 2002 the band recorded their first demo with this line-up. It was named Ender . In August 2003, the band went back to the studio to record the demo Once a True Story . With this album the band got a little more attention and concert offers. From May to August 2004 the band recorded an EP called The Reborn Genius . In October the band signed a contract with Arise Records and recorded the debut album Symphony of Delusions at Noisecamp / Musamuusa Studios. In 2005, apart from a few concerts, there were hardly any performances, as Palokankare, Lahti, Lehtinen and Aarnio had to do their military service. At the end of the year the band separated from their label. The following year keyboardist Aarnio left the band and was replaced in 2007 by Tuomas Riihimäki. Another demo followed in 2009. The most recently released album is called The Dividing Line .
style
The band plays Melodic Death Metal with a slight Power Metal influence . The music is described with the words " Children of Bodom let off steam in Finnish Power Metal".
