Patrick Bloche (born July 4, 1956 in Neuilly-sur-Seine ) is a French politician of the Parti socialiste . He has been a member of the National Assembly since June 1, 1997 .

Life

At the age of 16 he became a member of the Socialist Party. On March 20, 1989, he was first elected as a member of the Conseil municipal of Paris in the 11th arrondissement. He was a close collaborator of Georges Sarre, but broke off the collaboration in 1991 because he was, in contrast to this, a supporter of France's involvement in the Gulf War. On June 19, 1995 Bloche was elected to the City Council (Conseil général) of Paris.

On June 1, 1997, Bloche became a member of the National Assembly of France. With the support of Bertrand Delanoë , he was elected to the post of First Secretary of the Fédération PS de Paris as successor to Jean-Marie Le Guen in January 2000 with over 61% of the member votes. In 2008 he led the local elections in Paris as a socialist candidate and became district mayor of the 11th district on March 29. In 2009 he turned against the Hadopi Law in the National Assembly . He is deputy chairman of the Tibetan Study Group in Parliament.
