Blood Alone is a manga series by the Japanese comic artist Masayuki Takano , which was published from 2004 to 2014 and comprises ten volumes. The manga is aimed primarily at young, male adults - so it's his . The relationship between a writer named Kuroe and the vampire girl Misaki is portrayed.

action

The naive and innocent-looking girl Misaki has been a vampire since she was bitten by another vampire when she was twelve. Since she is still young, she still has all of her memories, which could be lost if she woke up to a full-fledged vampire.

Misaki is friends with the writer Kuroe and lives with him. Kuroe watched as a teenager how the same vampire who made Misaki into one kidnapped his sister. He was injured by the vampire while trying to save her and has since had limited supernatural abilities. For example, he can recognize demons and vampires disguised as humans.

The police pathologist Sainome, who is friends with Kuroe and also with Misaki, asks the writer for help if she has difficulties with a case and suspects that something supernatural might be involved. When Sainome finds out that the serial killer she is looking for is a demon who can slip into other male bodies at will, he threatens her. Kuroe tries to save her but is unable to capture the demon. He attacks Misaki, whereupon her true vampire form appears for a short time. She drinks the demon's blood and makes him a vampire. So the demon is trapped in this body.

Publications

Blood Alone emerged from a series of dōjinshi of the Vanishing Point circle between 1998 and 2003, whose author was Takano. The characters have been developed over the years and towards the end they can no longer be distinguished from the characters in the manga series. This first appeared from 2004 to 2010 in the manga magazine Comic Dengeki Daiō . The individual chapters have been summarized in a total of six volumes. In 2010 the author changed his publisher and with it the magazine. The volumes previously published by Media Works have been reissued by his new publisher Kōdansha . The manga then appeared in Evening magazine until it was completed in 2014. Four more volumes were created here.

Internationally, Blood Alone has been translated into English, German, French, Korean, and Chinese. The German licensee was Carlsen Comics . After the change of publisher, however, the licensing of the new volumes was problematic, which is why the series in German will not exceed 6 volumes in the foreseeable future.

backgrounds

The color of the pages has a special symbolism. If one side is black, it means that the action depicted takes place during the night. If it's white, it's playing by day, and gray means twilight.
