Gameplay

The game follows the common fighting game principle. In Bloody Roar , the player represents one of over ten 3D animated fighters. In addition to the normal shape of the character, there is a second animal form available, which can be activated by charging a special bar. There is also a third level, the so-called “Ultrabeast”. In this condition the fighter is much more powerful than humans or animals. This level can only be maintained for a short period of time, after which it is converted back to the initial state.

Bloody Roar

A catastrophe threatened the world in 1999, which made people live in fear and horror. In the midst of this terrible time, living beings emerge with superior abilities that can transform themselves into brutal beasts whenever they want. Trained warriors who witnessed the incredible power of these creatures wanted to flee rather than fight them. Through the transformation some of these mysterious creatures got tiger paws or wolf catches.

Bloody Roar 2

Five years later, the battle of the beasts ended with the bankruptcy of the international Tylon Company. It was also responsible for making genetically modified humans called zoanthropes. These were half human and half beast with extraordinary abilities. The zoanthropes were intended solely for war and military affairs. For humans, these creatures should never be accepted in society. They are also treated as scum and outsiders, among other things. In many places the zoanthropes are even hunted and this is becoming an increasingly popular sport among people. A terrorist group called "The Semi-Human Beasts Liberation Front" began to call their own kind together to a safe haven. There the group declared war on the hunters and all others who opposed the zoanthropes. But not all of the zoanthropists were satisfied with the deeds of the group and formed their own order.

Bloody Roar 3

A strange phenomenon recently spread among the zoanthropists. Conspicuous marks called "coats of arms" appeared on the skin of some zoanthropes. Those who carried these "coats of arms" were able to transcend their own formidable power. But those affected had to pay a very high price for it. The affected zoanthropes died one by one in an unknown manner. Some of them then decided to fight it with all possible means.
