The Blue Hole , called Ghar iż-Żerqa (or simply Iż-Żerqa ) in the local language , is a small marine lake on the west coast of the Maltese island of Gozo near the town of San Lawrenz .

It is a hole about 15 meters deep and about 10 meters wide in the rocky floor of the cliff, at sea level. Under water, the Blue Hole is connected to the open sea from a depth of approx. 7 meters through a large opening in the rock wall.

Well-known tourist attractions such as Fungus Rock and Inland Sea are in the immediate vicinity of the Blue Hole . The Blue Hole is considered to be one of the most beautiful dive sites in Gozo. Tourists and divers can reach the Blue Hole via stairs and paths that start at the parking lot at the former Azure Window .
