Bluebird Records
Bluebird Records is an American record label , a subsidiary ( sub-label ) of RCA Victor . Bluebird was founded in 1932 to compete with American Record Corporation (ARC) in the cheap segment (" 3 records for a dollar "). The first records appeared in July 1932. Bluebird was mainly active in the jazz , old-time / country and blues sectors during the 1930s and early 1940s . In addition, recordings from RCA were reissued.
Jazz recordings and re-releases were later marketed under the name Bluebird , and records for children were also marketed in the 1950s. Ultimately, Bluebird was revived as a jazz label by RCA Victor.
