Blumhardt Memorial

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Blumhardt memorial in the Gottliebin-Dittus-Haus in Bad Liebenzell - Möttlingen is dedicated to the Möttlingen pastor and later pastor in Bad Boll Johann Christoph Blumhardt (1805–1880).

Blumhardt was a pastor in Möttlingen from 1838 to 1852. He became known through various prayer healings, above all to Gottliebin Dittus , whom he accompanied pastorally for over two years.

The museum in the Gottliebin-Dittus-Haus gives an insight into Blumhardt's life and work. Blumhardt's relationships with contemporary writers are also portrayed, especially Eduard Mörike . In addition, the exhibition commemorates two predecessors of Blumhardt: the Möttlinger pastors Gottlieb Friedrich Machtolf and Christian Gottlob Barth , the writer and founder of the Calwer publishing association.
