Blurt is the name of a band that was formed in 1979 by the British saxophonist , poet and puppeteer Ted Milton (born 1943).

With his mixture of expressive saxophone playing, Dadaist lyrics and a punk- inspired minimalist, hard and fast accompaniment by drums and guitar, Milton coined a style that he called jazz-punk . Sometimes the band was also active in larger ensembles. To date, Blurt have released over 30 LPs and still give concerts.

The CD The Best of Blurt, Vol 1 (2003) was included in the list of 1000 albums to hear before you die by the British daily The Guardian in 2007 .
