Bob Heil

Robert G. Heil (born October 5, 1940 in St. Louis ) is an American sound engineer .

Heil founded the Heil Sound company in 1966, which manufactured and installed sound technology for rock concerts. In 1973 he invented a powerful talk box that was later sold by Jim Dunlop . Later, his company focused on the production of microphones.

As the first device manufacturer Bob Heil in 2007 was invited to his historically important devices (modular mixer , quadraphonic mixing console, Talkbox) permanently in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame issue. In 2014 he received an honorary doctorate from the University of Missouri – St. Louis .

Bob Heil is a radio amateur with the amateur radio call sign K9EID.
