Bob Lind (born November 25, 1942 in Baltimore , Ohio ; full name Robert Neale Lind ) is a popular English-speaking singer who celebrated his greatest success in the 1960s. He is considered a one-hit wonder because he only had one hit parade: Elusive Butterfly .

Lind signed a recording deal with the record company World Pacific Records in 1965 . His big hit Elusive Butterfly was released by this record company. It reached fifth place on the UK and US singles charts. He could have had more success as a singer with this song if a cover version of Val Doonican had n't also reached fifth place in the British charts at around the same time. More than 200 singers have recorded songs by Bob Lind, including Cher , Glen Campbell , Aretha Franklin , Dolly Parton , Eric Clapton , Nancy Sinatra , the Four Tops and Petula Clark .

In 1969, Lind retired from the music business. A few years ago he settled in Florida and worked as a writer.

In 2004 Lind returned to the music business. He re-released his album Since There Were Circles in 2006 and his hit Elusive Butterfly in 2007.
