List of rose varieties

The rose variety Bobbie James is a "multiflora" - Rambler rose . The rose collector Graham Thomas from Sunningdale Nursery discovered the rose in 1961 as a seedling in Lady Serena James' garden in St. Nicholas near Richmond.

Flower and fruits

The musky, slightly bowl-shaped, white flowers appear once, in the middle of the season, in June to July. They have yellow stamens, are 4 cm tall and slightly double. The flowers hang in large umbels and are reminiscent of wild roses - or cherry blossoms. Numerous small rose hips that are orange-red develop from them in autumn.

Growth and location

'Bobbie James' is suitable for partially shaded locations and is hardy to −23 ° C ( USDA zone 6 ). It is a climbing rose with long shoots armed with strong spines. Its dark green, shiny leaves are robust and resistant to many fungal diseases. 'Bobbie James' is ideal for climbing large trees up to 10 meters high and creating the effect of a “second blossom” of the tree in July.
