The Bochum Miners are a women's football team from Bochum .

history

Founded in 1992 as a department of the Bochum Miners club, the women's team has meanwhile formed a syndicate with the Münster Mammuts and reported to the 1st Bundesliga in play. In 2007 the club had to withdraw from the league during the current season due to an acute lack of players.

In the newly introduced women's advanced league, the Miners, with the support of some players from the Münster Mammuts, were able to continue to collect match practice from 2008. In 2010, in the final against the Mainz Golden Eagles, they won the championship title of the 2nd women's Bundesliga with a 32-0 win. Because of a too small player squad, promotion to the first division was waived.

In 2012 they were promoted to the 1st Bundesliga. In the 2012 and 2013 seasons, they each achieved 4th place. Then they went back to the 2nd division. The Bochum Miners Ladies had been the only department in the club for years. In 2015 they managed a “Perfect Regular Season” and only just finished 4th (24-26) in the semifinals against the Munich Rangers.
