Bockenheim Football Association

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Bockenheimer Fußball-Bund (BFB) was a local soccer association in the Frankfurt district of Bockenheim , which was founded on May 1, 1902.

In the two seasons 1900/01 and 1901/02, 1. Bockenheimer FC took part in the championship in the Frankfurter Association Bund (FAB) in 1899 , but disbanded in 1902. In the meantime, other clubs had been founded in Bockenheim that were looking for opportunities to play regularly. The Fvgg. 1901 Bockenheim, FC Germania 1901 Bockenheim and FV Amicitia Bockenheim are said to have participated in the championship.

Since the Bockenheim Football Association was no longer mentioned in contemporary sports newspapers, the association must have existed only for a very short time. In the 1903/04 season, FC Germania 1901 Bockenheim took part in the championship of the Frankfurter Association Bundes, so the BFB was probably dissolved again in the course of 1903.
