Previous model Rover 10/25

The Rover 10 , a 4-door sedan, was manufactured by Rover between 1934 and 1940 as the successor to the Rover 10/25.

The classic sedan (without trunk) had a 4-cylinder ohv engine with 1389 cm³ displacement, which developed 44 bhp (32.3 kW). The car was 107 km / h fast. The Rover 12 was also offered with the same body but a larger engine . Like all other civil models, the Rover 10 was no longer manufactured from 1940 due to the war.

Only after the start of civil production after the Second World War in 1945 was there a Rover 10 again. The concept corresponded to that of the pre-war car, but the car had a trunk extension, as did the models 12 , 14 and 16 .

Its engine was originally intended to power the first Land Rover , the Series I model , but this was discarded.

In 1948 production was finally stopped with the appearance of the Rover P3 and without a successor.
