Part of a rampart of the Deutzer Weiher

The Deutzer Weiher ground monument is located in the Gronau district of Bergisch Gladbach, east of the Gierather Wald road .

description

The Deutzer Weiher are a system of 11 individual ponds. They are located on the flat, 300 × 300 m large, west-sloping slope in the Gierather Wald nature reserve . The dam width at the western end dam is 10 m, the dam height 1.2 m. It is a medieval pond that originally belonged to the Benedictine Abbey of Deutz . The plant was preserved intact until the end of the 1970s. After that, a new forestry road was laid that cut several dams. Two dams were also leveled. By placing it under protection on January 2, 1984, further similar destruction can be ruled out.
